Online Counselling

Therapy that moves with you - Wherever you are

Real support. No commute required.

Life doesn't always leave room for driving across town, finding parking, and sitting in a waiting room. Online counselling gives you access to the same quality of support — same approach, same practitioner, same results — from wherever you happen to be.

Whether you're in Newcastle, regional NSW, or anywhere in Australia, we can work together.

Does Online Counselling actually work?

Fair question. The short answer: yes, and the research backs it up.

Over the past decade, dozens of independent studies have consistently shown that online counselling produces outcomes comparable to in-person therapy — particularly for anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. A landmark review published in World Psychiatry found that internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy was as effective as face-to-face delivery across a broad range of presentations. The Journal of Anxiety Disorders reached the same conclusion. So did the British Journal of Psychiatry.

This isn't a workaround or a lesser option. For a lot of people, online sessions actually produce better engagement — there's less pressure, no unfamiliar environment to navigate, and you're on your own terms from the start.

If the research says it works, and your gut says it's a better fit — that's a pretty clear answer.

Who’s it built for?

Online counselling works particularly well if:

  • You're busy, and carving time out of your week for a commute isn't realistic

  • You live outside Newcastle or can't easily get to sessions in person

  • You're more comfortable starting from your own space — your home, your car, wherever

  • You travel for work or have an unpredictable schedule

  • You've been putting off getting support because "getting there" felt like one more thing on the list

We've found that removing the friction of getting to an appointment is often what gets people through the door — or in this case, through the call.

What should I expect?

Sessions run via video call — secure, private, and simple to access. No app downloads required. You'll receive a link before your appointment, click it at the time, and we're away.

Sessions run for 50 minutes and follow the same structure as an in-person appointment. You'll be working with Zac directly — ACA-registered, with a background in CBT and Person-Centred Therapy.

The first session is about getting to know you — what's been going on, what you're hoping to shift, and whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure and no commitment beyond that first conversation.
